Trevone Bay Beach

Trevone Bay Beach is a sandy beach located on the north coast of Cornwall, a short distance west of Padstow. It lies within the Trevone area and forms part of the “Seven Bays” stretch of coastline. The beach faces the Atlantic and is known for its accessibility and range of coastal features, making it a popular destination for both visitors and local residents.

The beach consists of a wide sandy bay backed by low cliffs and a small settlement. At low tide, the sand extends significantly, providing ample space for walking and general beach use. To one side of the bay is a natural tidal pool, often referred to as “Trevone Pool,” which retains water as the tide recedes. The beach is exposed to Atlantic conditions, with consistent waves suitable for bodyboarding and occasional surfing, although it is generally less intense than some nearby beaches.

Access is straightforward, with a car park located close to the beach and a short, mostly level walk to the sand. Additional limited parking may be available in surrounding roads. Facilities include toilets, a café and seasonal lifeguard cover during peak periods. The beach is also connected to the South West Coast Path, allowing for walks along the coastline to nearby bays and headlands.

Trevone Bay Beach can be visited throughout the year, with the most favourable conditions during late spring and summer. It is suitable for families, swimming, bodyboarding and coastal walking due to its accessible layout and available amenities. The beach can become busy in peak season, particularly during school holidays. Tidal variation affects the available space, with a larger sandy area at low tide and reduced space at higher levels. Exposure to Atlantic weather means conditions can change quickly.
